Friendster…

I was really bored this morning. I had nothing to do. Didn’t feel like doing work yet. Anyway, I decided to check out friendster. A few people sent it to me and I’ve already signed up but still haven’t really taken a good look at it. To be honest, I don’t really know what to do with it. I remember back a while ago, we had sixdegrees. Don’t think that worked because the whole project tanked, and now that I’ve checked, it’s some site about people and travel guide? Anyway, and then there’s ecircles, that didn’t work, and sank again. Anyway, I’m not sure how friendster’s different, but besides, message center, and bulletin board, and some photos, that’s it… Let’s just put aside the notion that it’s going to go bankrupt. What’s really happening? What can we actually do with this?

Looking at my page, WOW, I’m connected to 40884 people through “5″ friends… FIVE? OK, I’ve only got 5 of my friends on my friendster, should I add more of friends to my friendster list when I can communicate with them even better with other IM programs? Do we have to communicate thru friendster? So what am I going to do with the 40884? Seems like a lot… One of my friends send me a message saying,

Well? What is there to do? Ok, you can go try and talk to these people online, but wouldn’t it be better if you can actually go out and meet these people?
