It’s not much, actually pretty little, but it still feels pretty good…. I must say it’s pretty hard work for this little money, but it still feels good…. I hope the whole year’s going to go by quickly, then no more crazy call schedule…
Because of the call schedule, it means that if I’m not all call that day, it be a pre-call day (call day tomorrow) or a post call day (on call for the previous 24 hours)…. No one was harmed in the process, and we’re still working with pretty good spirits.For the entire July, I’ve been working in the Urology team. It means that if I’m not on call, most of the cases that I see are either benign prostatic hypertrophy or hematuria or acute retention of urine or urinary tract stones.
I’ve been reading the papers, watching the news, surfing the internet, and now I’m watching the Mens’ Wimbledon Finals 2005…. He asked me to join him for dinner with the doctor who’s on 1st call, but I told declined. I’m still kind of nervous since today’s my first day on call, I’m afraid that something might happen and I’m not there…
One professor got pretty excited, and he started drinking with us. Anyway, we kept on filling his glass so it was pretty happy. The only thing is we were short 1 bottle of wine, and we had to get a bottle of house wine which was pretty shit…. I think we broke a few glasses, someone vomited all over the place, it was not pretty.
Anyway, I actually went to work on both 1st and 2nd of July for a few hours…. We’ve only had 2 emergency cases since 8am today, looked at a few lab results, checked up on a few patients, and that was pretty much it…. I should be writing a lot more now since I have at least one call every three days and hopefully I’m not going to be too busy during on-call nights.
