Travel Photography

Just took 6 days of annual leave to go to Ko Samui for holiday. The trip was great. We stayed at a really nice resort. I managed to take over 800 photos during the trip. Here comes the work. Everytime I travel, I end up with a huge amount of photos. When I got back to HK, the work began. Sorting through the photos themselves take a long time. I wish keywording was automatic. Going through the 800-plus photos and tagging every one of them is a pain in the ass. Tagging alone takes a hell of a long time. I’ve been doing it pretty deligently. I really like the idea of tagging since I’ll be able to search through the photos really fast. I can isolate the one photo with a few keywords. I usually have to go through the photos at least twice just to tag. After tagging, I rate my photos. After rating, I have a series of picks which I then start edit. The process takes a long time. Photography is more than just shooting. You now have to go through the entire workflow yourself. The entire workflow is quite time-consuming. Sometimes, I wish someone could help me with all this. But at the end of the day when you manage to publish your photos, it is very rewarding.

I’ll be posting the photos from the trip soon. I’ve finally finished rating the photos and will be touching up the photos soon. Keep an eye on my flickr stream!
